🚦 6 golden rules for every employee

  • Get it in writing — email beats a phone call
  • Keep appointment letter, payslips and bank statements
  • Check your PF passbook every few months
  • Never sign a resignation or 'no dues' under pressure
  • Claims have time limits — act within weeks, not years
  • Colleagues as witnesses — note names and dates

FAQs

What is Naukri Adhikar?
A bilingual tool for employees in India. Pick one of 8 work problems (salary not paid, fired suddenly, PF not deposited, gratuity, maternity leave, sexual harassment at work, relieving letter / full and final held back, long hours without overtime) to see the first 3 steps, your rights in short, proof to keep, what not to do, where to complain, a ready email to HR and a WhatsApp Status card. Educational facilitation only — not legal advice.
Which law applies now — the old labour Acts or the new labour codes?
The four labour codes (Code on Wages 2019, Industrial Relations Code 2020, Code on Social Security 2020 and OSH & Working Conditions Code 2020) are in force from 21 November 2025 and replace most older Acts such as the Payment of Wages Act, Payment of Gratuity Act and Maternity Benefit Act. Pending matters and State rules can still matter, so verify with your State labour department.
How soon must my salary be paid after I resign or am removed?
Under section 17(2) of the Code on Wages, wages payable on resignation, removal, dismissal, retrenchment or closure must generally be paid within two working days. Gratuity has its own timeline (generally within 30 days of becoming due).
Is the HR email sent or stored anywhere?
No. The email is built in your browser. You copy it or open it in your own email app and send it yourself. Adhiwakta does not see, store or send it.
Does Adhiwakta file my labour complaint or fight my case?
No. Adhiwakta is a citizen legal-help facilitation platform, not a law firm. It does not file complaints, appear before any authority or court, or guarantee any outcome. You can ask a general question on WhatsApp, and government legal aid (15100) is available to eligible people.
