FAQs

Why should I keep a dated diary of incidents?
Police complaints, Internal Committee complaints, consumer cases and court cases all ask for what happened, when and in what order. Notes written on the same day, with dates and the proof you kept, are easier to explain to an advocate or an authority than memory months later. A diary does not prove a case by itself; it helps you keep facts organised.
Is my diary uploaded to Adhiwakta?
No. Entries are saved only in this browser's local storage on your device. Nothing reaches Adhiwakta unless you choose to press send on WhatsApp yourself. Clearing browser data or changing phones deletes the diary, so download or print it from time to time.
What about WhatsApp chats, photos and call recordings?
Keep the original files and the phone or device they are on; do not edit, crop or forward-and-delete them, and keep a backup. In Indian courts, electronic records are generally produced with a certificate under Section 63 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 (which replaced Section 65B of the Evidence Act). Whether a particular recording can be used depends on the facts — ask an advocate before relying on it.
Someone else uses my phone. Is it safe?
Anyone who opens this browser on your phone can see the diary. Use the Quick hide button to leave the page at once, and Delete whole diary if needed. If you are in danger, call 112, or 181 for the women helpline.
Can Adhiwakta tell me what to do with my diary?
You can send your question on WhatsApp (+91 89898 88907) or through Ask for general legal information. Adhiwakta is not a law firm, does not appear in court for you and does not guarantee any outcome.
