FAQs

Does this tool give my exact legal share?
No. It is a simplified educational estimate of Class I shares under the Hindu Succession Act 1956 for common family patterns. Actual shares depend on documents, earlier partitions, state amendments, personal law and court findings. Talk to a registered advocate via Adhiwakta WhatsApp for your facts.
What if there was a will?
A valid will generally governs. Use the probate / Letters of Administration guide. This calculator is for intestate (no-will) Hindu succession only.
Why can't I calculate Muslim or Christian shares here?
Those follow different personal laws (e.g. Quranic shares; Indian Succession Act 1925 for many Christian/Parsi cases). Computing them wrongly would mislead — so the tool explains and points you to WhatsApp guidance instead.
Are daughters equal to sons?
For Class I distribution of a male Hindu's property under ss.8/10, each son and each daughter takes one equal share. For ancestral/coparcenary property, daughters are coparceners by birth after the 2005 amendment (Vineeta Sharma, 2020). Details still need fact-checking.
Is Adhiwakta a law firm?
No. Adhiwakta is a facilitation platform. It does not appear in court or guarantee outcomes. You can talk to a registered advocate via Adhiwakta WhatsApp for general educational guidance.
